Business Licenses

A business license is required of all businesses and in-home businesses operating within city limits, including temporary activities and contractors with offices located outside of the city. Our business licenses are effective for a calendar year; license will remain effective until December 31st of the same year it was issued. Certain types of businesses require a background check which costs $100. Please call 661-721-3310, ext. 2203 or 2265 for questions. The regular business license application is available for download. The following types of businesses require a different application and can be obtained at our office:

As of January 1, 2021, Assembly Bill 1607 (AB1607), aimed at preventing gender-based discrimination, mandates that cities issuing business certificates must furnish businesses with written notices of AB1607's requirements when the certificate is issued or renewed.
